Cambridge Open Ballet
About open ballet
Designed for any dancer with some experience, these classes aim to be “casual but pro”: delivering professional knowledge and instruction without the typically associated stress and pressure, ie a no-bullshit approach to getting the ballet class fix. Building up gradually from the barre to the centre, dancers will be guided - through the logical and rigour of classical ballet technique - towards a deeper understanding of their bodies, learning to breathe and to move efficiently in relation to musical temporalities, to think through the body, and to make independent artistic decisions. Ultimately, the aim is to help each dancer develop their own system of working and approach the freedom of dance performance.
